Learning about new surgical procedures: Rotationplasty
Rotationplasty, also known as the Van Nes rotation, was popularized by Van Nes in the 1950s in children with Tuberculosis who had proximal femoral focal deficiency. The Van Nes rotationplasty technique has since grown favor amongst tumor surgeons worldwide as an alternative to endoprosthetic replacement or amputation, either as a primary or alternative procedure.
